I thought this would be easy: I like blue in the garden. No, I mean purple. But blue or purple without yellow or white will get lost in the background. I’m in Texas, though, and red and orange stand up to the heat so well! So – is it blue, or purple, or yellow, or white, or red, or orange?
The answer: GREEN is my favorite color in the garden. The shiny green of crinum leaves; the almost grey-green of datura leaves; the reddish-green of new growth on the mutablis rose; the yellow-green of the jewels of Opar. Yep, it’s green – the color of life in the garden.
Blue is my favorite color, especially the blue of morning glories. It is so astonishing, like the sky come to earth.

My favorite color in the garden is green – no matter what blooms are colored the plant is a shade of green. I LOVE looking across the lawn. garden and see the cool shades of the green grass, different hues of green hostas, the yellow green of different folage, darak green of fern fronds, etc. Yes, green is my favorite color in the garden!!

Any shade of purple, which, horticulturally, is usually referred to as blue rather than purple … what they call purple is usually more a hot pink or fuchsia, which is pretty but, not my beloved purples!
I think the color green is the most important color in my garden. Without GREEN…there would be no other beautiful colors to enjoy.

Purple with some yellow is the favorite of mine.
My favorite color in the garden is (shades of) blue. Blue, especially the deeper shades, like delphinium, reminds me of the ocean, and a yard full of it is the next best thing! It’s so pleasing to the eye, especially during a good breeze… like waves on the ocean, or when it’s all dewey in the early morning. Ahhh, I need to get back in my garden now!

My Favorite Color is PURPLE. The Lavender and Heliotrope are both in full bloom. Next in line is the vibrant orange geranium and my vivacious yellow day lillies, both are bursting forth in bloom. I love summer and the beauty of all the flowers!

I have tried to grow blue flowering plants for 10 years, only to have the purple, yellow and orange ones prefer my sand dune soil (even with amendments and wire baskets). Now, I appreciate anything that attracts and feeds my hummingbirds and visiting birds and flowers and can take marauding Black Labs, escaping horses, and a helpful husband.

A “true” blue flower is my favorite. This color is extremely rare and almost non-existent in Minnesota. I can alter my soil for the hydrangeas that will turn white, pink, lavendar, or blue.

Black! Just like that ‘little black dress’ it goes with everything. When I first discovered black pansies and put them in the pots I put together myself to take to the cemetery my husband said it was morbid. Oh well. It was perfect with lime green foliage, white stock and marguerite daisies. Now it’s those pretty tuxedo petunias–black with lime green stripes and black hollyhocks planted behind those Shasta daisies. Oh my! Yes my favorite garden color is definitely BLACK.

Green is and has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember! There are so many varieties of green in my garden. When my blooms are spent (especially this time of summer) the greens are still so beautiful and peaceful looking. I’m especially fond of my nickname “greenie” which was given to me by a group of christian online friends when they learned I loved to garden. So GREEN it is!

It’s hard to pick just one color! In my yard, if I’m looking west, i love the yellow/blue combination. Looking east, i have to admire the orange/yellow combo of my Firebush and Bird-of-Paradise. On the south is the blue/purple Passion Flower vines and to the north is purple/green of the Pipevines. Oh, and of course there is pink throughout the compass. Who can choose??

My favorite color in my garden is My Hydrange .The Pink one is such a joy to watch as it gradually goes from a shade of almost white and turn to the lightest pink abd then to the prettist shade of pink and with our weather being so hot the sun has changed its awesome pink to blend of deep fuscia. I do have a blue, red and white .The pink one is so fragile looking and the change in color is a delight!

PINK, any shade, and mixed with any other color. Pink lilies with red, white, yellow, or any combination of the above. I have a whole bed of thousands of PINK lily of the Valley that blooms in the early Spring here in Massachusetts.Every year I dig up some to share with anyone that would like some, and each Spring new plants fill in the spaces.. BTW did you know that lilac is a shade of PINK!!!

My favorite color is Poppy Red. But I like to add other colors to off set it. Purples, yellow, pink, white, etc. I have a variety of Day Lilies & some Tiger Lilies. LOTS of Iris’s which are very nice in the spring but are just garden fillers the rest of the season.

Of course there’s my white-and-green hostas too and all the other white-and -green foliage that complement the white flowers so beautifully.

My favorite color is the deep coral of the aloes blooming in my rock garden down in Baja California. The tubular shaped flowers attract the hummingbirds, with their florescent green breasts and ruby-capped heads, zipping about the succulents and cactus.
That wonderful purple I keep seeing on all the building and bathtubs repurposed outside in the garden – I love that purple!!!!!
